Courtenay is President and CEO of Salida Capital and join the firm in March 2008.

Prior to joining Salida Capital, Courtenay was Senior Vice President of Strategy at Tricycle Asset Management, one of Canada's largest private alternative investment companies. Courtenay joined the firm in its infancy in 2002 and her business strategy implementation was instrumental in building Tricycle's assets from under $100 million to more than $1 billion in less than 3 years.

In 1996 Courtenay was brought in to found Dell Canada's online business division. By 1998 she had grown it into Canada’s largest e-commerce business, a $500 million business unit, 50% of Dell Canada’s revenue and the fastest growing e-commerce division throughout Dell globally. While at Dell, Courtenay was granted the Chairman's award for excellence, presented annually to 5 out of 40,000 global employees.

Courtenay is active in the area of private equity and currently sits on the board of directors of two privately held companies in the mining and agriculture sectors, Vital Alert and FBSciences.

In 2009 Courtenay founded the Salida Capital Foundation, a philanthropic initiative focused on the areas of Sustainable Energy, Food Security and Agricultural Innovation, Women's Rights and Empowerment, and Children's Causes. In 2010 Courtenay established a partnership with the William J. Clinton Foundation for sustainable agriculture and development in Africa. The partnership is currently focused on increasing access to markets and improving farming techniques for smallholder farmers in Malawi. Courtenay also sits on the board of ONEXONE, an international charity focused on children’s causes.

Courtenay is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and was recently named one of 2011’s Top 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds.
