This fund is primarily a single strategy long/short equity fund focused exclusively on all aspects of the energy sector. Securities selections are made of companies that are involved directly or indirectly in the exploration, development, production and distribution of oil, gas, coal, uranium, energy infrastructure and other related activities in the energy and resource sector.
Long term secular growth has emerged as developing countries attempt to secure energy sustainability to ensure their economic growth. The fund intends to capitalize on both the cyclical and long term secular growth trends in the energy industry, which is tied to global growth.
Hedging is achieved through the use of individual stocks, indices or industry ETFs. Historically, net exposure has been approximately 40% to 90% net long.
The fund seeks to achieve its objective through providing investors with exposure to the returns of the BTR Global Energy Fund.
